Recognizable by its clock tower, Canal Street Flats is a 2007 mid-rise on Canal Street in EaDo, managed by Hilltop Residential. Sixteen floor plans cover one to three bedrooms between roughly 687 and 1,377 square feet, with walk-in closets, garden tubs, high ceilings and private patios or balconies depending on the layout.
Residents get a rooftop lounge, a pool, a fitness center, a business center, a picnic area with grills and door-to-door trash pickup, behind a gated entrance and perimeter fencing. As a pre-2010 building it predates the current EaDo construction wave, and rents reflect that.
Canal Street runs through the older industrial part of the neighborhood near Navigation, which puts Daikin Park, Discovery Green and the POST Houston gardens a few minutes west and the Buffalo Bayou bike trails close by. It suits downtown commuters who want three bedrooms, or a lower price than the newest buildings on Bell and Capitol can offer.
