Allied Orion Group manages Smart Living at Telephone, a 2017-vintage community on Telephone Road in the southern part of Houston’s East End. Apartments come in one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts with wood-style flooring, granite-look counters, garden tubs, built-in desks and private balconies.

Amenities are straightforward: a swimming pool, a fitness center, a resident clubhouse and barbecue areas. The three-bedroom plans and the surrounding single-family blocks make this a more family-oriented address than the mid-rises closer to Daikin Park.

Position is the practical selling point. I-45 and Loop 610 are both minutes away, putting downtown, the Texas Medical Center, NRG Stadium, the University of Houston and Texas Southern within a short drive. This is a car-dependent stretch of the East End rather than a walkable one, so weigh commute time and parking rather than expecting rail or retail at the door.
