Cortland both owns and manages Cortland Museum District, which is less common in Houston than it sounds; most comparable buildings are owned by one company and operated by another. The high-rise stands on Caroline Street a block off Fannin, well inside the Museum District and close to Hermann Park’s northern edge.
A rooftop pool with skyline and park views is the headline amenity, alongside a bark park and Cortland’s standard interior package of quartz countertops, ELFA closet systems and built-in wine refrigerators. Floor plans run up to three bedrooms, which is scarce in this part of town and makes the building workable for sharers and small families as well as singles.
Location is most of what renters are buying. The Red Line runs along Fannin a block east, putting the Texas Medical Center a few stops south and Downtown a short ride north, while Rice University, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Houston Museum of Natural Science are all within walking or cycling distance. It reads as a practical base for medical center staff and graduate students.
