Aris Market Square rises 32 stories from a historic brick base catty-corner to Market Square Park, filling the block bounded by Prairie, Preston, Travis and Main. Hines developed it with Ziegler Cooper Architects and SJL Design Group, opening in September 2017, and the tower earned LEED certification the following year. Hines has stayed on as property manager.
Units span roughly 570 square feet up to a 2,227-square-foot penthouse across about 336,000 square feet of building. The amenity list mixes the social and the practical, from a movie-theater lounge and an aqua lounge to a dog wash and a bicycle repair room.
This is among the most walkable corners of Downtown Houston. Market Square Park’s restaurants and bars are across the intersection, Theater District venues are a few blocks southwest, and the Historic District’s older building stock gives the immediate streets more texture than the glass-canyon blocks further south. It suits Downtown office workers who want to live in the bar-and-restaurant core rather than commute to it.
