Camden Downtown

Camden built and still owns Camden Downtown, a high-rise on Austin Street in the southeastern quadrant of Downtown Houston. Ownership by a REIT that manages its own buildings shows up in daily operations: leasing, maintenance and renewals all run through Camden rather than a third-party manager.

The amenity program is stacked literally, with a pool deck on the ninth floor and a sky lounge on the twenty-first, and a fitness center and concierge service in between. Floor plans cover studios, one- and two-bedrooms with a choice of finish packages, and the community is pet-friendly and smoke-free throughout.

Toyota Center is a short walk away, and Camden cites direct METRORail access from the site, which opens up a rail commute south through Midtown to the Museum District, Hermann Park and the Texas Medical Center. Everyday dining sits close by on Caroline and Main, including Pappasito’s and Zydeco Louisiana Diner. It is a straightforward fit for Downtown office workers and med center staff who would rather ride than drive.
