Downtown Houston Apartment Buildings

Apartment Buildings in Downtown Houston

Downtown Houston sits inside the freeway ring formed by I-45, I-69 and I-10, and it holds the tallest apartment buildings anywhere in this directory. We track 15 buildings of 50 or more units here — 5,133 apartments in all — from Houston House at 1617 Fannin, opened in 1966, to Elev8 Downtown on Smith Street, finished in 2023.

Height is what sets the neighborhood apart. Brava at 414 Milam rises 46 floors, Market Square Tower 40, and One Park Place 37 across from Discovery Green. Around them sit shorter podium and wrap buildings — 500 Crawford a block from the ballpark, 1414 Texas Downtown, 1810 Main and Block 334 — so a single block can hold a five-story building and a forty-story tower. The largest address is SoDo on Main, the two-tower community at 1725 Main Street with 674 apartments.

Nearly every building here is within walking distance of the METRORail Red Line on Main Street, the downtown tunnel system, Market Square Park and Discovery Green, and most sit a few blocks from the Theater District or the George R. Brown Convention Center. Two records fall just outside the 77002 core: The Hamilton on St Joseph Parkway in 77003 and One Park Place in 77010.

Every listing below carries its street address, unit count, year built, floor count, leasing phone number and the property’s own website.
