Few rental buildings in Houston are as tied to a sports venue as 500 Crawford, which sits across the street from the Astros’ ballpark at the eastern edge of Downtown. The Finger Companies developed it with Niles Bolton Associates, spreading a mid-rise across two contiguous blocks with an adjoining parking garage, a departure from the slender towers that make up most of Downtown’s rental stock.
The signature amenity is The Upper Deck, a two-story sixth-floor gathering room oriented toward the field, alongside a pool deck with private cabanas, a fitness center, club room and business center. Roughly 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail includes two restaurants opened by Astros owner Jim Crane.
The location works beyond baseball. The ballpark district connects to the rest of Downtown on foot, light rail runs within a few blocks, and the freeway loop around Downtown is close for drivers. It suits Downtown office workers and anyone who wants stadium and convention-district walkability without a Main Street address.
